In an effort to meet the needs of our community, the district employs a Community Education Director, Melissa Jackson. Community Education’s primary focus has been to facilitate a collaborative agenda among the district, youth-serving organizations and other institutions to meet the needs of our youth, parents and community. Community Education finds ways to build school and community relationships by opening the schools to parents and community members and allowing them to partner with the schools to play an active role in their children’s education. The goal is to design and develop positive, productive and permanent programs of family and community involvement and for these school improvement programs to become normal and expected components of the school organization. If interested in more information regarding this program, contact Kelli Dalton at Hickman County High School (270-653-4044).
