Real world math!
6th grade has been studying fractions, decimals, and percents. On Monday, January 27th, 6th grade students had to follow these instructions: Design a menu with 20 items, 15% desserts, 20% appetizers, 25% drinks, and 40% main entrees. On Tuesday, January 28th, each student had to order a main dish, an appetizer, a drink, and a dessert from another student’s menu. The owner of the menu was instructed to add up the meal, figure a 6% tax and a 15% tip, then arrive at the total cost of the meal.
