Our junior class had 5 students apply for GSP and all 5 were accepted into the program - Tyler Abernathy, Presley Ballentine, Riley Barber, Brandi Hornback and Charity Shelton. Also, three juniors applied and were accepted into the CHA program at MSU this summer - JD McClanahan, Charity Shelton and Jadyn Williams. Congratulations! What an awesome group of junior students!!

The 2020 Yearbook Staff is now posted on the yearbook bulletin board outside of Mrs. Heath’s room.  Please, stop by and let Mrs. Heath know if you accept the position.

Falcons t-shirts will be available today during break at the bookstore-- $10 for S-XL and $12 for 2X.

All-Day Field Trip on April 23rd. (2nd-7th periods).

Last Day for Checkout

The last day to check out library books will be Friday, April 26th.  After this date, only materials needed for specific class assignments will be issued.

June 8 ACT Deadline

The deadline to register for the June 8th ACT is Friday, May 3rd.  Register online at www.actstudent.org.  The fee is $50.50.  Juniors & seniors on free/reduced lunch can request a fee waiver from the guidance office to cover this fee.  Sophomores & juniors - if you are wanting to take dual credit next year and have not met your ACT benchmarks, the June ACT will be your last chance.  Seniors -  if you haven’t met your ACT benchmarks you could still take the June ACT to try to get out of remedial classes.  Also, if you are attending MSU, you could still take the June ACT to try and raise your composite score for automatic scholarships that are based on GPA & ACT. 

MSU Talent Search Program

The Talent Search Program at MSU is accepting applications again for students in grades 7-12.  Applications are available in the guidance office and need to be returned ASAP.  Several students have already taken a trip to Morehead State University and are now going to Atlanta, Georgia.  For more information visit www.murraystate.edu and search for Talent Search.  

 

AIMS Program

Applications for the Murray State University Adventures in Math and Science Program are available in the guidance office and need to be returned ASAP.  Don’t miss out on this great program for students in grades 9-12 that takes some amazing trips!

Trip to Washington, D.C. - Fall Break 2019 - Spots are still available.  Talk to Mrs. Mullins if you are interested.

Sophomores & Juniors - ACT $40,000 Scholarship Opportunity

Eligible sophomores & juniors who register for the April, June, or July 2019 ACT national test dates may enter to win a $40,000 scholarship from ACT.  During registration, check “Yes” to opt-in to the ACT Scholarship Giveaway.  You may also enter by mail without registering for the tests.  For eligibility requirements & entry instructions go to www.act.org.

Beta Club Members - if you have candy bar money to turn in, please do not slide it under Mrs. Jackson’s door.  Bring it to the office.  

FCA - Applications are now available for FCA LEADERSHIP TEAM  for the 2019-2020 schools year. Please see Danny Carr to get an application.
