Following Florence, special guest Jennifer Nuckolls shared her interest in drawing and how she came to illustrate the children’s book No-Count Dog written by Mary Potter. Working alongside the author, Nuckolls created the various cartoons which help tell the story of No-Count, a seemingly worthless dog who becomes an unlikely hero during Hurricane Katrina. Nuckolls further enriched the program by sharing some of her personal sketches and encouraging students to develop their interests in drawing. The program concluded with the presentation of a door prize sponsored by the Hickman County Arts Council.
